Late Thoughts: Little Mix’s “Wings” is so…Unimpressive

When I first heard Little Mix’s “Wings” I stopped halfway through the song and went onto something else. I just didn’t like the sound at all and the song was lack lustre to say the least.

Don’t get me wrong, each of these girls are talented in their own right. I even voted for them during the X Factor competition and Perrie Edwards is everything; but this song is such a bore and sounds like something the Spice Girls would have passed on recording in the 90′s..

I couldn’t be arsed to review this song when it was released because I initially thought it was released as a teaser like that unimpressive song “Cannon Ball”, but many readers wanted me to review the track so better late than never.

A recent pole by Entertainment Wise asked users to vote for their favourite song amongst the top X factor finalists. Little Mix’s “Wings” placed third behind Misha B’s “Home Run” and Amelia Lily’s “You Bring Me Joy”….This pole is absolutely right.

Misha B’s “Home Run” is a a smashing club banger and Amelia Lily’s “You Bring Me Joy” is on constant repeat on my playlist. Wings however…I simply bypass the song when I see it on the youtube sidebar when listening to Misha or Amelia.

The song is way to retro for me and the lyrics are…simple. I think the marketing strategy for these girls is to make them “Spice Girls part 2″…they need to be Little Mix. Listen to “Wings” below
