First time being punched in the face…is it weird that I love him even more?

Guest Post: Let me start off by saying that yes I’m a guy and no I’m not a feeble little queen. I’m quite the opposite and was always the “protector” in relationships.

I met the love of my life two months ago and he wasn’t really my type at first (he’s taller than me 6’2), but fell for his personality on our second date. He’s the most charming guy I’ve ever met. A few weeks into our relationship he told me that he wanted to have an open relationship and I agreed as we both loved each other and didn’t want to be apart.

After the first month I wasn’t handling the open relationship quite so well. Many times I would visit him and he would have a guy in his room. The straw that broke the camels back was walking in on him having intercourse with a close acquaintance of mine.

When I walked in on them, I completely lost my cool. I started fighting with my boyfriend and before I knew it my mouth was bleeding. He punched me straight in the mouth. I’m not a violent person and I must admit that I hit him first but not to the point where he was bleeding. When he punched me I was so pissed off, I stormed out the house and was about to call the cops but he apologised immediately.

What’s strange is that when he was apologising all I kept thinking was how sexy he looked. I was still in shock by him punching me in the mouth, but it was the first time a guy has ever been so macho with me. It was such a turn on and it made me think that he was passionate about our relationship.

We ended up patching things up and things are fine now. He hasn’t acted up since the big fall out, but I can’t stop feeling like something still isn’t right. I actually want to see more of the enraged person he was on that day (I know this isn’t right), but I don’t want it to be physically violent. I actually think we bring out the worse in each other sometimes. Should I just abandon this relationship…TORN!

What is it with gay men and wanting to be “macho”. GROW UP

A love slap on the ass is one thing, but a punch in the face? WTF! Relationships are difficult as it is, without blood being involved.

    RUN, don’t walk away.

I hate to tell you, but what you’re experiencing isn’t love.

Your story is the definition of immaturity, not on his part, but on yours. You’re so blinded by this so-called “love” that you cannot see that clearly is NOT the love of your life (the open relationship request being the first major, clear-cut sign, the punch in the face being the second…) and you need to end this FAST. You will only end up with your heart completely crushed.

Love is a two-way street; yours is a one-way dead end.

Neither of you will be happy together. As others have said… get out, and get out now.
